My name is Michel Liu, I'm currently 16 years old, living, and studying in Lima, Peru. I'm a middle child, settled between an 18 year old brother, and a 13 year old sister. I'm the child of two Taiwanese immigrants, who moved to Peru in 1997, with no knowledge of the outside world in hopes of finding a better future.
Many of the values I hold have been taught, and passed down to me by my parents, especially my mom. I've been taught to work extremely hard, persist during hard times and through difficult challenges, and to always be kind to everyone. The values she has taught me have influenced the way I work at school, the projects/clubs I decide to enroll myself in, and has helped me choose paths of leadership. She has taught me how to be passionate about life, and helped me see the beauty behind education, and learning.
I'm very curious about the world, how it works, and the people living in it. I've lived in the same country, growing up and seeing the same familiar faces every day, for the past 16 years of my life. Having the chance of studying at an international school, I've had the pleasure to meet many people from around the world, who have been capable of seeing much more than I have. Their adventures, and their stories constantly feed my hunger of wanting to explore.
I want to know more about the world we live in. I spend a lot of my free time with my head stuck in a book, or my fingers typing away at Google search bars, constantly wondering how, what, when, who, and why.
